I\'ve tried many times to get projects started since my last video but it never really amounted to something I could picture myself working on until completion, it always seemed too ambitious or too jank, and that moment of doubt really is a make or break thing for me.But that was over a month ago, and around that time I saw an amazing sex and dance video starring Reimu and Sanae by 山本 (Yamamoto) so I started following his fantia so as not to miss future work. I didn\'t have to wait long because shortly after he released his Sanae school exhib video and that one REALLY caught my attention. It was such a perfect video structurally, and it did everything that I wanted to do but never quite figured how to do right, only it was missing a little visual flair to really make it pop. So in a moment of post nut clarity I did something I\'ve never done before and contacted Yamamoto on X to ask if he could share his project files. Amazingly, he accepted.Now I\'ve been working on this for a bit over 3 weeks which is relatively fast compared to my usual. It took a good 4-5 days to put the project back together from 8 different project files into a single one while cleaning up the animation and clipping a bit, I\'m used to this model now and I have the clothes that I tweaked to make proper strip animations (something Yamamoto didn\'t have so he had to do it all himself). Then once that was done came the time to add that visual flair I mentioned and that\'s when I really started doubting myself. I slapped Ray on it, it looked like ass, I tried shaders, it looks like ass, no matter what I tried it would look like ass, so in desperation I ask Kiido for help since he\'s a master when it comes to consistency of visuals and it\'s exactly what I needed here as opposed to my usual style which is super messy and very custom made for a single video, so I ask him and he says it\'s complicated and that I\'ll surely figure something out. Not content with the answer I then ask Enieu, I show him what I\'m working with and he tells me it\'s cooked - back to the drawing board I go.This project to me is very much the definition of biting more than one can chew, it has 4 stages, 5 models that move quite a bit plus 3 others, 5 different scenes, 3 times of day, and so it\'s really hard to find one consistent look for it that doesn\'t break apart the moment you turn the camera around or change scene. If it takes a day or two to properly set up a scene, the lighting and so on, it would surely take weeks for this one.\nAnd that it did, because I scrapped the original stages, stitched together new ones from various parts, slapped effects on top of each other, tried a lot of different shaders to really find a visual style I liked. The problem here really resides in the fact that I absolutely wanted to make one continuous project, and basic shaders, unlike ray materials, most of them can\'t be edited mid video to adapt to the lighting and such so I had to find both a look that worked all throughout the video and ways around those limitations, which was solved with custom morphs to edit spheremaps, shadows and toonshading on the fly on various parts of the models, as well as specific effects.I\'ve also kept working on the animation all throughout, with the messy way I work there\'s always an expression to change, some clipping to fix, and a scene is never done until the video\'s been uploaded here (and even then I keep working and updating the stuff after the fact). A lot has changed compared to the original motion, with the parts that have been edited the least being the transitional scenes, especially the stairs one which is the real money shot for me so I only slightly tweaked it, everything else has been replaced or changed enough that I would call it new almost, I even swapped the original dance motion for a smoother one.
